“Every time I step onto the Bima to address our Kehila, I get emotional.
Looking out, I am humbled to see members hailing from all different countries, speaking more than 10 different languages. Their journeys, as well as my own family's, escaping religious persecution and forging a community, fills my heart with pride and hope.” - President Rick Behar
WHAT’S HAPPENING
Our Rabbi
Rabbi Joseph Abadi
Born and raised in the Syrian community of Brooklyn, New York, Rabbi Abadi embodies a true spirit of passion and dedication to Hashem’s ways and his Torah. His journey began after graduating from Yeshiva of Flatbush High School, when he Immersed himself in the old city of Jerusalem, from 2003 to 2005 delving into the teachings of Yeshivat Yesodei Hatorah. Continuing his pursuit of Talmudic studies, the Rabbi dedicated the next few years to intensive studies at Mikdash Melech in Israel and furthered his studies at BetMidrash Torat Hesed in Lakewood, New Jersey, honing his skills and expanding his intellectual horizons.
However, his thirst for knowledge drew him back to Jerusalem in 2009, where he received Rabbinical Semicha under the guidance of the late, Hakham Obadia Yosef, at Yehave Da’at.
With the tools he has acquired, Rabbi Yosef Abadi returned to the US sharing his knowledge by teaching in synagogues and speaking at community events. His warm and energetic nature makes him a beloved figure among the people he inspires , enhancing them both intellectually and emotionally.
Driven by a profound desire to help others reach their full potential and become the best version of themselves, Rabbi Yosef Abadi dedicates himself to understanding the complexities of human behavior and emotions. His mission is to touch lives, empowering individuals to overcome challenges, find their inner strength, and lead lives of purpose and authenticity.
